Rapha House Update
Every year on tour Believe challenges students to experience faith in an immediate local outpouring and from a global perspective. See what our focus will be for the 2010 Messiah tour here and keep reading to get the update on last year’s initiative. Christ In Youth Believe Jeremiah Tour 2008 – 2009 was an amazing display of what God can do using jr high kids. As we learned about God calling everyone to speak His words we were also challenged to give money in order to support the ministry of Rapha House. Rapha House is an international slave rescue organization at work in Cambodia. Rapha House has expanding operations that rescue kids sold into sex trafficking.
At the beginning of our partnership with Believe, Rapha House had one safe house in Cambodia for a general shelter house and rehabilitation of girls who had been cast out as worthless by their society–many of whom had been forced into slavery. By the end of the tour CIY gifts totaled up to nearly $45,000. Because of Christ in Youth’s partnership Rapha House is now opening up a second home in an area that is a hotbed for human trafficking. Because jr high students decided to speak God’s words there will be even more captives who will have a safe place to grow up–kids who would have otherwise been left to fend for themselves. Even though we are not focusing our offering time this year on Rapha House our hearts are closely knit to their staff and forward progress. A war is raging on for the lives and souls of innocent children around the world, and by your giving you have joined in the battle cry of Rapha House: Love! Rescue! Heal!
