This is a typical schedule. A schedule specific to your location will be available at the leader tools page.
| 2:00-4:00 pm |
Groups arrive on campus, pay remaining balance, receive housing assignments, and student booklets. |
|
| 4:45 - 5:30 pm |
All leaders are encouraged to attend. This is a great orientation time and you can expect to receive information including: final project details, maps to the project, rules, campus information, Connection details and answers to any questions you might have about the week. |
|
| 5:30 - 6:15 pm | Dinner | 6:45 - 7:30 pm |
| 7:45 - 8:30 pm |
Each night we gather for Connection (Monday-Thursday). This is a time for the church to come together to celebrate what God is doing during our week of Know Sweat. There is a time of singing, a message which connects God’s Word with what students are experiencing on the worksite and some interactive elements. The music and preaching are done by qualified youth leaders and communicators who understand the hearts and minds of students and have experienced what a week of Know Sweat can do in the life of a student. |
|
| 8:45 - 9:30 pm |
Immediately following Connection, youth groups are given a chance to spend some time talking about their day. They can either do this somewhere on campus or you have the freedom to leave campus. We encourage groups to share about their experiences at the worksite and during Connection. |
|
| 10:00 pm | In Rooms | |
| 10:30 pm |
Work days start early at Know Sweat so we encourage you to get to bed early and get ready for the next day! |
| 6:30 am | Rise and Shine |
| 7:00 am |
Between the time you wake up and leave campus, you will need to complete three things. First, you will have a quiet time with God using devotions found in the student book. These devotions are written specifically for Know Sweat and help you begin the day focused on God.. You will also eat breakfast and pack your sack lunch for the worksite. At most locations food is set out and students are able to make their own sandwiches and grab chips, a snack and fruit. Before leaving for the worksite, leaders also fill their water coolers and drop by the Know Sweat box truck to pick up necessary materials for the day. |
| 8:30 am |
By 8:30am groups will load up in their vehicles and head towards the worksite. Maps will be provided at the Monday leader meeting. Students and their sponsors serve in a variety of settings depending on the city, church size and skill level of those serving. Typical project settings range from community service opportunities, working in and for shelters, agencies and ministries and home projects for the elderly, low-income and disabled. The average work project gives students age and skill level appropriate opportunities such as painting, cleaning, minor construction yard work, assisting agencies with their maintenance needs and outreach to the community, distribution of food, serving the homeless, and sorting clothes and essential toiletry items. |
| Noon |
The youth leader will determine a good stopping point to break for lunch. This is a great time to cool off and share as a group what you are learning at the project. Groups are encouraged to eat with those they are serving if possible. |
| 12:30 pm | Back to Work |
| 3:30 pm |
As you wrap up the day, you will need to make sure you leave the project at a good stopping point. You will also need to clean up the worksite and tools and lock up anything you are leaving behind. |
| 4:00 pm |
Once you arrive back at campus, you can turn in any tools or materials you do not need at the Know Sweat box truck. You then have time to shower, take advantage of recreation activities on campus, see the city or simply relax and hang out until evening activities begin. |
| 5:30 pm | Dinner |
| 7:30 pm | Connection and Group Time |
| 10:30 pm | In Rooms |

On Friday morning groups end their week with a devotion that helps them prepare for a return to normal life. Hot breakfast is served in the cafeteria and then its time to load up for either a recreation day or the trip home. Groups are encouraged to be off campus by 9AM. |
