Prayer of the Week

Our Engage team at Christ In Youth believes that it is important to consistently engage your students’ hearts and minds with what is happening around the world. We also believe in the power of prayer. We have created a free weekly resource that you can use as a programming element during your youth group meeting times. You can also visit this site regularly for updates to see how God is answering our collective prayers to affect change in the hurting places of the world. Would you join with us in prayer? Would you join with us in engaging a generation of students’ hearts and minds with what is happening around them and the power of their God to do something about it?

Pray this prayer:

Jesus, there is so much work to be done in Southern Texas and Louisiana. Would you help those on the ground to treat this as a marathon, rather than a sprint? The recovery will be long and hard. Many days, weeks, months, and years are ahead as people work to restore what once was. Over 100,000 homes were destroyed, Jesus.
Things lost, lives lost.
Help us to grieve with those who grieve and mourn with those who mourn. Help the rescuers to take time to listen to the stories of those they are rescuing. Help people to feel seen and heard in the midst of a scary and uncertain time.
Thank you for moving in the hearts of so many, to reach out and help when and how they can. Would you keep prompting us with your spirit to pray, give and go when it is appropriate?
We pray specifically today for your church. May this be a time where your people shine and where their good deeds draw people back to you. Help the churches of Houston and surrounding cities to be at their best right now - to share hope and aid at the same time.
May your light shine bright through your Kingdom workers on the ground.
Do not let them become weary in doing good. Sustain them with your strength Jesus. In your name, Amen.
