Our Engage team at Christ In Youth believes that it is important to consistently engage your students’ hearts and minds with what is happening around the world. We also believe in the power of prayer. We have created a free weekly resource that you can use as a programming element during your youth group meeting times. You can also visit this site regularly for updates to see how God is answering our collective prayers to affect change in the hurting places of the world. Would you join with us in prayer? Would you join with us in engaging a generation of students’ hearts and minds with what is happening around them and the power of their God to do something about it?
PRAYER OF THE WEEK SEPT. 5, 2017Sep 5
Indian MonsoonPDF Download
Pray this prayer:
Jesus, even as Southern parts of the U.S. are still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, other places in the world are also suffering from natural disasters. In India, more than 1,000 people have died from flooding associated with monsoons. India is no stranger to monsoons this time of year, but nothing as catastrophic as this last storm that has affected more than 40 million people. Rains are ruining homes, displacing families and shutting down schools and transportation systems. In this time, we recognize that we are not in control. We can build cities and roads and create jobs, but we cannot cause the rain to fall or force it to stop. You have all authority over Heaven and Earth. We are reminded that you alone have authority over the rains and where they fall. These people in India that you created and care so deeply for need you to save them Jesus. Please provide a way for the waters to lower. May the waters dry in such a way that people know only you could be the one to do it. Use these floods to mobilize your Bride, the church, to glorify your name. We ask you to stop the risk of infection and disease from spreading. We ask for you to call back the waters, for your voice is in command over them. May this be a shift where people can always look back to this day and know that’s when it all changed. That’s when India became a beacon for Christianity. That’s when India surrendered to the Creator God. That’s when God had mercy on this people and they turned back to him. May that day be today Jesus. In your name, Amen.
