January 4 - January 15
In Cambodia, through CIY’s partnerships with Rapha House and International Justice Mission (IJM), you will learn about modern-day slavery and what is being done to alleviate social injustice. Sadly, each and every day, girls are bought and sold like common possessions and then trafficked into the thriving sex trade. The trusted staff at Rapha House work hard to provide aftercare and ensure the victims of oppression are equipped to rebuild their lives.
During the experience, you will bring much needed spiritual and emotional encouragement to the Rapha House staff and girls living in the safe house through devotions, English classes, fun crafts and projects, and testimonies.
Also while in Cambodia you will spend time in the capital city of Phnom Penh serving with the Rapha House Kids Club. Theara Sath is the director of Kids Club where she and her family make certain the less fortunate children in their neighborhood have the chance be in a safe environment and receive the care they need (physical and spiritual). They offer English classes, learn traditional Khmer dances, and are taught about the love Jesus has for them. You will be challenged to think about holistic ministry, community development, and how every day choices affect others.
