Cambodia Medical Update
Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018
By Pat Fancher
Today is travel day, and as I write this update, our bus is bouncing along the uneven road from Phnom Penh to our next stop on the journey. The landscape is green and lush because it's winter season. It's a six-to-seven-hour trek depending on traffic, and how many potty breaks are needed because we're constantly reminding the team to "hydrate, hydrate!" (Insert smile!)
Two medical/dental clinics are under our belts, and we have three to go. Yesterday's outreach was at Kids Club, located in a very impoverished neighborhood in Takhmo. It was a long, hot, and humid day (92 degrees), and some of us looked like river rats (me) and smelled like goats when we finished. Yet, what joy, to have provided care for 168 patients! A good, good day.
This evening, we'll have the honor and privilege of attending a "welcome party" at Rapha House. Ice cream will be enjoyed by all as we sing, dance and celebrate how God transforms "broken things" into beautiful things.
