AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR FEEDING MY STUDENTS ON “EXTENDED REC DAY” FOR “SKIP-A-MEAL?”
Yes. On extended rec day, the money that is saved from skipping just one meal helps fund MIX International. It enables students from all over the world to attend CIY events and train youth workers to amplify Christ’s call on student lives. Skip-A-Meal is at lunch on Day 4. Extended recreation is a time where you and your youth group can enjoy the city in which MIX is located. We want to promote community on campus, along with giving your group ample freedom to enjoy the great opportunities surrounding the city. So go have some fun!
WHAT PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL DO YOU PROVIDE?
CIY provides leaders with several different options for MIX promotional material including posters, slides, and videos which you can find on the Promtional Downloads page.
WHAT IS YOUR REQUIRED STUDENT TO LEADER RATIO?
We require one adult for every seven students as part of an agreement with each venue. In addition, groups must have at least 1 male and 1 female adult if they are bringing both male and female students to the event.
DOES MIX HAVE A WAITING LIST?
Yes. Persons wishing to register for a full MIX event should complete the online registration process and will be put on the waiting list. No payment will be collected at that time. When space becomes available groups or additions on the waiting list will be contacted and given the opportunity to submit payment.
For more information, please read the Registration Policy.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE TO PAY MY FULL BALANCE?
Full payment for all attendees registered with each group is due 21 days prior to the event they will attend.
IF I PAY IN FULL, THEN ONE OF MY STUDENTS DROPS OUT, DO I GET A REFUND?
You can get a full refund if you notify CIY of the change at least 60 days before the start of the event. If a group reduces its total registration count after the 60 day deadline but before the 14 day deadline, you will get a refund for everything except the $50 deposit. If a group reduces its total registration count after the full payment is due (the 21 day deadline), the full registration price will be retained by CIY.
IS THE $50 DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE IF ONE OF MY STUDENTS DROPS OUT?
Yes, if the MIX team is notified of the cancelation at least 60 days before the event, you will receive full reimbursement. However, if a student drops out within 60 days of an event the deposit is non-refundable and cannot be applied to the group balance or transferred to another group.
For HIGH DEMAND events deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
CAN I REGISTER A STUDENT ONE WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT?
Yes, you can register a student the day before the event as long as there is space available. Those registered less than 21 days prior to an event must pay a late fee of $25 per person, plus the regular registration price.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
MIX registration is now available online. Go to the event you are interested in attending and register from that page as long as there is space available. When registering, you can either pay the deposits by using a credit card or you have the option of mailing a check. If you choose to mail a check, it must be received within 7 days of when you registered online. If there is no space available for the event you would like to attend, you will be put on the waiting list.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COST?
The price that you pay to CIY MIX covers all meals from dinner on Day 1 through dinner Day 4 (except Skip-A-Meal), housing, as well as all of the programming provided for General Sessions and small group curriculum.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND MIX?
MIX is intended for students going into sixth grade through eighth grade. Youth workers are also invited and encouraged to attend. The more the better.
DOES CIY MIX PROVIDE FIRST AID AT THE EVENT?
Christ In Youth does not provide first aid supplies or on-site medical professionals at events. Leaders will be provided with the location of the nearest medical facility for their event location. In the event of an emergency, CIY staff will assist the adult leaders from the group with communication in seeking medical attention. However, it is the responsibility of the adult in charge for the group to ensure that the affected individual(s) receive appropriate care, are accompanied while away from the event, and appropriate payment arrangements are made. Leaders from the group should have access to medical release forms for everyone on the trip at all times.
